Welcome to The Sage Tutor Northern Rivers (“we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our website, booking platform, and tutoring services at our Lismore CBD learning space; Shop C, Mather’s Arcade, 37 – 39 Woodlark Street, Lismore NSW 2480.
By booking a session, enrolling a student, or using our website, you agree to comply with and be bound by these terms.
1. Services & Enrollment
- Scope of Service: We provide individual and small-group tutoring, educational support, and mentoring for students at our dedicated premises in Lismore, NSW.
- Student Registration: An enrolment form detailing the student’s contact information, relevant medical conditions, and emergency contacts must be completed prior to commencing tuition.
- Code of Conduct: Students are expected to treat staff, tutors, and peers with respect. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate services if a student engages in disruptive, disrespectful, or unsafe behavior.
2. Fees, Payments & Billing
- Payment Terms: Fees for tutoring sessions are billed at time of session OR in advance (e.g., term-by-term or in monthly packages) unless an alternative plan is explicitly agreed upon in writing.
- Accepted Payment Methods: Payments can be made via credit/debit card, direct bank transfer, or our online portal.
- Late Payments: Failure to settle invoices by the due date may result in the temporary suspension of sessions until full payment is received.
3. Cancellations, Rescheduling & Refunds
- Notice Required: To cancel or reschedule a session without charge, you must provide at least 24 hours’ notice prior to the scheduled start time.
- Late Cancellations & No-Shows: Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or instances where a student fails to attend, will incur a $30 late cancellation/no show fee.
- Tutor Absence: If a tutor is unable to conduct a scheduled session due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, we will arrange a credit, reschedule the session, or offer a suitable replacement tutor.
- Refund Policy: Fees paid are non-refundable, except where required under Australian Consumer Law or at the sole discretion of management.
4. Attendance & Drop-Off / Pick-Up Safety
- Location: All sessions take place at our premises in the Lismore CBD, Shop C, Mather’s Arcade, 37 – 39 Woodlark Street, Lismore NSW 2480.
- Punctuality: Sessions will start and end promptly at the scheduled time. Arriving late will not extend the duration of the session.
- Duty of Care: Parents or guardians of younger students are responsible for ensuring their child safely enters the building. Tutors hold duty of care during scheduled session times within our premises only. Parents must collect students promptly at the conclusion of their session.
5. Website Usage & Intellectual Property
- Website Content: The contents of this website, including logos, text, course material, branding, and graphics, are owned by or licensed to The Sage Tutor Northern Rivers.
- Prohibited Actions: You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute any material from our website without prior written permission.
6. Limitation of Liability
- While we strive to provide the highest standard of academic support, academic success depends on various factors outside our direct control. We do not guarantee specific academic results, test scores, or grades.
- To the fullest extent permitted by Australian Consumer Law, The Sage Tutor Northern Rivers shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss resulting from service interruptions, technical issues, or website downtime.
7. Privacy
Your privacy is paramount to us. Personal information collected through our website and enrolment processes is handled in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). We will never sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
8. Amendments & Governing Law
- Updates: We reserve the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date.
- Jurisdiction: These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
